Statesville has many neighborhoods that are great places to call home. Centered on the junction of Interstates 40 and 77, it’s easy to travel from Statesville to other central North Carolina cities and towns like Charlotte, Asheville, Winston-Salem, and Greensboro. Great rural communities are found just outside the Statesville city limits like Harmony and Union Grove to the north, Cool Spring to the East, and Troutman to the south.

WHAT SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES ARE IN STATESVILLE?

Founded in 1856 as Concord Female College,  Mitchell Community College serves Statesville and surrounding areas with a variety of degree and certification programs. Universities such as Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem State University, Davidson College, and the University of North Carolina – Charlotte are all an easy drive via I-40 or I-77. 

Younger students in Greensboro attend Iredell/Statesville Schools, many of which have excellent test scores, low student-to-teacher ratios, and active PTAs.
