Mantle Realty Community Outreach
Prom Project
Free prom dresses, shoes, and accessories for local students across the Triad.
Prom is expensive. Dresses get worn once. Instead of letting them sit in a closet forever, we collect them, store them, and help put them in the hands of students who can actually use them. Since 2018, Mantle Realty has helped give away thousands of dresses and make prom night feel possible for more families.
Why We Do It
Prom matters. So does showing up for people before you need something from them.
Prom can be one of those high school moments people remember forever, but for plenty of families, the cost gets heavy fast. Dress. Shoes. Accessories. Tickets. Hair. Pictures. Dinner. It adds up in a hurry.
At the same time, there are closets all over the Triad filled with dresses that were worn once and never touched again. We would rather see those dresses go make somebody else feel confident, included, and excited for a night they have been looking forward to.
Prom Project fits the way Mantle tries to show up in the community all year long. This is not some one-off look-at-us-being-nice moment. We support local events, help with school and outreach projects, and try to do work that actually helps real people in real ways.
Prom Project is one piece of that. It is practical help, it is local, and it gives people a chance to be part of something bigger than just dropping another dress in the back of a closet and forgetting about it.
How It Works
Donate it. Store it. Give it away.
The process is simple, which is refreshing given how much of life is a mess.
Donate dresses, shoes, and accessories
Bring clean, wearable prom items to any Mantle office year-round. If you need help, contact us and we will try to coordinate pickup.
We sort and store everything
Items are bagged, protected, and organized so they stay in good shape until the next giveaway cycle rolls around.
Students shop during the event window
When the giveaway is live, students can find dresses in different sizes, colors, and styles without the extra financial pressure.

Need a Dress?
We want to help. We just do not run it like a random closet stop.
We keep dresses stored safely during the year so they stay clean, organized, and ready for the next Prom Project giveaway.
That means this is not a walk-in-any-random-day setup. Items are typically available during the event window, not whenever somebody suddenly decides prom shopping sounds fun on a Wednesday afternoon.
For current updates, event timing, or questions about how the next giveaway works, keep an eye on our event updates or contact our team directly.
Community Matters
Prom Project is one part of how Mantle tries to show up all year long.
We care about this project because it matches the way we try to operate as a company. Useful, local, involved, and not just loud online.
We like practical help
This is not vague awareness work. People donate dresses. Students get dresses. Families spend less. That matters.
We stay involved year-round
Mantle supports local events, schools, outreach efforts, and community projects throughout the year. Prom Project is one example, not the whole story.
We want people to feel seen
Prom can be a big memory. Helping make that night feel possible for more students is exactly the kind of thing we want to be part of.
Video Recaps
This is not just a nice idea. It is something we actually do.
Lead with the story first, then let the other clips back it up.
Featured Story
The 2026 Prom Project video says the part that matters most.
This one is more than a quick recap. It gets into how the girls feel, what getting the dress means to them, and what they would say to the person who donated it in the first place.
That is the heart of the whole project. Not just racks of dresses. Not just another event post. Real people, real gratitude, and a real reminder that somebody else's old dress can become somebody else's big night.
FAQ
The questions people are going to ask anyway.
What can I donate?
We take prom dresses, shoes, and accessories that are clean, wearable, and still make sense for prom. If it helps a student get dressed for prom night, it is probably worth asking about.
What should I not donate?
Please do not bring damaged items, heavily stained pieces, everyday clothing, or things that clearly are not prom wear. And no, we do not need your wedding gown from 1980.
Do you take shoes and accessories too?
Yes. Shoes, jewelry, handbags, and other prom accessories can all help complete the look and save families even more money.
Can I drop items off any time of year?
Yes. Donations can be dropped off year-round at any Mantle Realty office.
Can someone pick my donation up?
Sometimes, yes. If getting to one of the offices is a problem, contact Mantle and we will try to coordinate a pickup or another option.
Can I just stop by randomly and get a dress?
Not usually. Dresses are sorted, bagged, and stored between giveaway cycles so they stay in good shape. Availability is tied to the event window, not random walk-ins all year.
Why are dresses stored instead of always available?
Because keeping them organized and protected matters. If everything stayed out all year, it would turn into a wrinkled mess and make the actual giveaway harder to run well.
What sizes and styles do you usually have?
It changes every year based on donations, but we usually collect dresses in a wide mix of sizes, colors, and styles.
How will I know when dresses are available?
Watch Mantle's event updates and social content, or contact the team directly if you have questions about the next giveaway cycle.
Do you only help with dresses?
Dresses are the main thing, but shoes and accessories matter too. A full look can get expensive fast, so those extras help more than people think.
