Known as North Carolina’s International City, High Point is home to more than 70 international companies. High Point is also known as the furniture capital of the world. It is home to the High Point Market, which attracts 100,000 to-the-trade exhibitors and buyers from around the world, and many open-to-the-public furniture, lighting, and accessories showrooms.

Residents of High Point have easy access to the Piedmont Triad International Airport, local outdoor attractions like the Piedmont Environmental Center and Oak Hollow Lake and Marina, universities like High Point University and Laurel University, and shopping at local spots like Palladium Shopping Center, as well as ease of travel to other Triad cities and towns like Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and RTP.

High Point has a total population just under 105,000, with a high population density of 1,882 people per square mile. Residents of High Point are educated—approximately 85% of people over 25 have a high school diploma, while 29% have a bachelor’s degree or higher. The area is considered middle class, with an average household income of more than $57,000/year.

High Point has many desirable neighborhoods at all price points that are great places to call home. Many High Point neighborhoods are convenient to Highway 68 and I-40, and well-known High Point, Jamestown, and Greensboro employers including Bank of America, Volvo Corporation, Qorvo,  Honda Jet, HAECO Americas, Covington Detroit Diesel, and Novartis.just on the outskirts of town, a 20-minute or less drive from most neighborhoods.









High Point has many opportunities for higher education.  High Point is home to universities such as Laurel University and High Point University Since High Point is the only municipality in North Carolina to span four separate counties, four different public school systems service public education in the city. Students in High Point attend public Guilford County Schools, Davidson County Schools, Forsyth County Schools, and Randolph County Schools: many of which have excellent test scores, low student-to-teacher ratios, and active PTAs. 

For the outdoor adventurist or the theatre buff, High Point has something for everyone. You can visit the Mendenhall Plantation to get a glimpse of historic Quaker living, or view the World’s Largest Chest of Drawers, built in 1926, to commemorate High Point’s importance in the furniture industry. You may also want to check out some of the outdoor recreational facilities like Oak Hollow Festival Park, that offers a performance stage and picnic areas, or one of High Point’s golf courses such as Blair Park or Oak Hollow. In addition, you can try boating or paddling at High Point City Lake Park to enjoy the natural scenery.
